About King Jamma
Rapper. Songwriter. Author. Truth-teller.

King Jamma — born Willy Lyons in Cleveland, Ohio — is an American rapper, songwriter, and author whose career stretches back nearly three decades. Before the crown, he was known to the streets and the culture as Souljah Boy, an original member of Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's legendary Mo Thugs collective and the Cleveland sub-group DNA Level C.
His first appearance came on the platinum-certified Mo Thugs Family Scriptures (1996), the debut compilation from Mo Thugs Records that introduced Cleveland's deepest bench of MCs to the world. As Souljah Boy, he became a steady voice across the early Mo Thugs catalog, building his reputation through Cleveland's DNA Level C movement.
In recent years he retired the Souljah Boy name and re-emerged as King Jamma, a rebrand built around ownership, longevity, and telling his own story on his own terms. He continues to release new music through Taliup Records, where he also serves as President of A&R. He has no current contact or working relationship with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony due to professional differences.
Off the mic, King Jamma is the author of The Truth Behind Mo Thug's — Just A Side Mission, a first-person account of the Souljah Boy era, the rise of Mo Thugs, and the business behind one of hip hop's most influential family trees. It's the uncut version the books and documentaries have never told.
